plain-language terms for the atrophy ios app. they are short, because nobody needs a novella here.

1 · acceptance

by installing and using atrophy ("the app"), you agree to these terms. if you do not agree, do not install or use the app.

2 · the diagnostic is free

the diagnostic specimens, fluency traps, verification tasks, audit, explain-back, and the resulting atrophy index and share card are free. no account is required. no information about you is collected to deliver the diagnostic. see the privacy policy.

3 · practice is a subscription

atrophy pro unlocks the calibration practice pack: mixed drills covering slop spotting, the verification reflex, and confidence calibration, plus subscriber-only explain-back prompts. it is not a clinical program, a dated plan, or a regimen — it is a small set of drills you can return to. two plans:

both plans are billed through your apple id. subscriptions auto-renew at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. you can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in settings → [your name] → subscriptions on your iphone, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds for unused days.

prices may vary by country, currency, and tax jurisdiction. the app store display price at the time of purchase is the price you will be charged.

4 · the lifetime tier is an expression of interest

the "lifetime" option in the paywall is not a purchase and will not bill you. tapping it opens your system mail composer with a prefilled message addressed to atrophy.app+lifetime@gmail.com. nothing is sent unless you choose to send it, and the app does not store the message or your email address on the device. if and when a lifetime tier is offered for purchase, pricing and terms will be announced separately; nothing about future pricing or availability is promised here.

5 · refunds

refunds for app store subscriptions are handled by apple, not by us. request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. we cannot issue refunds directly because we never see your payment information.

6 · the app is self-awareness only

7 · limitation of liability

the app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. to the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the app.

this does not limit any rights you may have as a consumer under applicable mandatory law.

8 · acceptable use

do not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app. do not use the app to harass, defame, or harm others. do not claim the diagnostic results represent an official evaluation when sharing them.

9 · changes to these terms

if we materially change these terms, the new version will be posted here and the effective date at the top of the page will be updated. continued use of the app after the change indicates acceptance.

10 · governing law

these terms are governed by the laws of the united states and the state of residence of the developer, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

11 · apple standard eula

use of this app is also governed by the apple standard end user license agreement available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ .
